Lions Of Bath 2010
Following on from the success of King Bladud’s Pigs, the Heritage City of Bath is to be graced with another collection of magnificent beasts – a pride of 100 individually decorated, life-sized lions.
Why lions? Well, as the event website explains, the lion is a symbol seen throughout Bath’s architecture, civic insignia and has historic significance for the city.
With sponsorship from businesses, communities and individuals, local artists have transformed the blank sculptures (designed by Alan Dun) into an eye-catching display for the city. If the Bladud’s Pigs sculptures are anything to go by, we can expect a stunning array from the sublime to the comical, all reflecting the colour and diversity of our city.
Expect to see the lions throughout Bath from 20th May 2010 and we hope to see you at the auctions on 15th & 16th October 2010, where we hope to bag one for The Market and to help raise money for a number of local charities.
We wish the artists, sponsors, bidders & everyone involved a roaring success.
